Angela Seach

Chairperson

Angela is an experienced leader with a background in workplace health and safety, specialising in safety leadership and culture, and psychological wellbeing service provision. More recently, Angela has worked in senior leadership roles in organisational and leadership development as well as organisational and cultural change. This experience is supported by a background in generalist people and culture management. An active director of Volunteering Victoria since 2012 and Chairperson since 2016, Angela brings direct experience of volunteer management, with over 15 years leading and managing volunteer programs. Her strategic leadership experience from a range of industries, including emergency management, heath, transport and insurance mean that she is able to integrate her experience from various industries to support Volunteering Victoria in achieving its strategic goals.

Bronwen Clark

Deputy Chairperson

Bronwen Clark is a communications professional with 20 years’ experience in marketing, public relations and relationship-building at the international, national, and local levels. She has consulted to and worked within a diverse range of industries including all levels of government, agriculture, resources, education, volunteering, health, community services and Indigenous groups. Bronwen has worked with regional businesses on corporate volunteering and with regional councils to coordinate volunteering during emergency recovery. She has volunteered on the boards of Volunteering Western Victoria and Wimmera Development Association and is currently a Director of Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has undertaken governance training for not-for-profits and has post-graduate qualifications in public relations.

Geoff Sharp

Board Member

Geoff has been involved with Volunteering Victoria for a number of years through Volunteering Ballarat and the Victorian Volunteer Support Network (VVSN). He offers over 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the not-for-profit sector. Geoff has held multiple current and past Directorships, is a member of the Worldwide Institute of Learning Professionals and continues to be an active member of multiple networks and committees.

Bradley Smith

Board Member

Bradley has held senior roles in both metropolitan and regional communities in Victoria. Initially building a career in the education and training industry, he held a variety of roles focused on quality, engagement, government relations and administration. Over the last five years, Bradley’s work in the community services sector has seen him working alongside local government, people with disability, people seeking asylum in Australia and Volunteers. Bradley holds a Certificate III in Business Administration, is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management and has held a past Directorship.

Andrew Coghlan

Board Member

Andrew brings over 20 years experience in the emergency management sector. His current role is as National Manager, Emergency Services with Australian Red Cross, overseeing the national Emergency Services function. Andrew has played a pivotal role in coordinating the Red Cross response to a number of major emergencies and disasters, including Cyclone Larry (2006), the Black Saturday Victorian Bushfires (2009) and Queensland Floods and Cyclone Yasi (2011). Prior to joining Red Cross, Andrew was the National Recovery Consultant with Emergency Management Australia, providing advice to both State and Federal governments following a range of emergencies and playing a key role in coordinating recovery assistance to Australians impacted by events such as the Boxing Day 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.

Con O’Brien

Board Member

Con has been associated with Volunteering Victoria as a member of the Governance Committee since 2015 and has been a member of the Board since April 2017. He is an experienced management consultant with an extensive background in corporate governance, corporate finance and strategy. He has co-authored several text books on business finance and has consulted to a broad range of companies and agencies in the commercial, not-for-profit and government sectors. Conway has been a director of several companies and organisations, serving in both executive and non-executive roles. He is an experienced Chair at both Board and Committee level and is a Foundation Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Sydney and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.

Luci Mumme

Luci is an experienced lawyer practising in workplace relations and is a partner in a national commercial law firm. In her role Luci acts for a broad range of public and private sector employers, providing advice on all aspects of employment law, diversity, workforce management, occupational health and safety and industrial relations. Luci has been involved with and acted for a broad range of volunteer-based services particularly in emergency services, disability support and other not for profit organisations. Luci holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts.

Kerry Uren

Board Member

Kerry has been Executive Officer at Interchange Incorporated since 2013 and is a passionate advocate for sustainability of volunteer supported service models within the disability sector.  She is involved with numerous initiatives designed to secure ongoing commitment from the state and commonwealth governments to support the millions of Australians living with disability who rely on volunteers for important social support and links to their local communities. With tertiary qualifications in Business and Marketing and fifteen years in the disability and mental health sectors, she is passionate about supporting communities to work together. Kerry has a Foundations for Directorship certificate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently sits on the NDS State Committee in Victoria.

Michael Wilson

Michael operates a small accounting practice which specialises in the Not for Profit sector providing organisations with support in the accounting, payroll, business advice, tax and governance areas. In the past Michael has spent 6 years as Victorian Divisional Councillor at CPA Australia including one year as State President. Michael also lectures in accounting and business at Australian Catholic University on a sessional basis.

Scott Miller

Chief Executive

Scott joined Volunteering Victoria in July 2018 as the organisation’s new CEO. In his previous role, Scott was Chief Executive of Volunteering New Zealand’s for 3.5 years. His extensive cross-sector experience in public, private and NGO roles ensures the organisation’s people, purpose and priorities are both sustainable and sector-leading. Scott is active internationally, consulting on democracy, civil society and volunteering.

Sara Sterling

Sector Development Manager

Sara joined Volunteering Victoria in January 2018 with a focus on Professional Development services. She has ten years’ experience in government and not for profit sectors. She has focused on volunteer management, program support and administration and training and development. She has a Masters in Social Policy, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is passionate about volunteers, volunteer managers and supporting the sector broadly.

Dominic Szeker

Project Manager

Dominic is responsible for delivering a project in increase disability inclusion in the community sector and continues to work on Volunteering Victoria’s advocacy campaigns as a volunteer. Dominic joined Volunteering Victoria in May 2017 to lead policy, advocacy and research development after four years in the Victorian Government. He has a First Class Combined Honours Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in political studies and philosophy from Otago University in New Zealand. Dominic is passionate about working with government and organisations to ensure the volunteering sector in Victoria is thriving. Dominic is an enthusiastic traveller and has volunteered abroad on a number of occasions, including in response to the 2009 earthquake in Padang, Indonesia.

Hazel Maynard

Sector Development Trainer

Hazel joined Volunteering Victoria in 2006 as a volunteer Board Member and was the President of the Board of Management from 2008 to 2010. Hazel became a volunteer again in January and this evolved into a paid position as Professional Development Trainer and Consultant. Following an early-life career change (from patents translator to not-for profit), Hazel has worked for a number of Not for Profit organisations in the past 27 years, including the Australian Red Cross, Amnesty International and The Cancer Council Victoria. In her previous role at St Vincent de Paul Society, Hazel had overarching responsibility for a state-wide program of over 6,500 volunteers in Vinnies Retail Stores. She is passionate about encouraging people who are socially isolated or marginalised to volunteer.

Camellia Sayed

Marketing & Communications Officer

Camellia Sayed joined the Volunteering Victoria team in June 2018. She assists in the development and implementation of the annual marketing and membership plan with a focus on development of dedicated online marketing campaigns and promotional activities. Dubbed the social justice warrior amongst friends, Camellia has more than 2 years work experience in corporate sectors in both finance and marketing, but has always had a passion for community services and social change. Whilst working in the private sector, she contributed her time at AIMES, working with refugees in the Refugee Settlement Program. She also holds a BA in Banking and Finance and Masters in Marketing.

Kate Stuart

Community Engagement Coordinator

Kate has over 15 years’ experience working in Community Development and Community Arts, in both NFP and local government roles, most recently as Volunteering Development Officer with Mornington Peninsula Shire. She has initiated a number of innovative projects to promote and enable volunteer participation and received a Highly Commended Award in the KVB Tidy Town Awards in 2018 for a very successful volunteering promotion campaign in partnership with the Mornington Peninsula volunteering sector. Kate has previously volunteered on committees of management of small volunteer community and arts organisations, and currently also works as a practicing ceramicist and tutor in a local NFP arts organisation.

Madeline Townsend

Volunteer Engagement Officer

Madeline joined Volunteering Victoria in December 2018 and is focusing on providing volunteering information to individuals, with a special focus on encouraging people experiencing disadvantage to volunteer. Madeline has worked in volunteer management and policy roles since 1989 across Australia and New Zealand. She has a Diploma in Business (Governance) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Community Directors Australia. Madeline is also the Volunteer Coordinator at Beyond Zero Emissions, and a regular volunteer for social and arts causes.

Kirsten Fullarton

Administration Officer

Kirsten joined the Volunteering Victoria team in July 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Business and has varied administrative experience, which she brings to her role as Administrative Officer. As a dedicated volunteer with Seeing Eye Dogs-Vision Australia, the Cancer Council Victoria and the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), Kirsten is passionate about volunteering and admires those who dedicate themselves to the volunteering sector.

Rosy Satanek

Events Coordinator

With over 10 years of experience in festival and event management Rosy brings a treasure trove of inspiration along with a love of celebrating humanity to her role as the Events Coordinator at VV. She is passionate about social and climate justice and has worked as a Community Organiser with some of Australia’s leading campaign organisations, including the Australian Conservation Foundation and GetUp! She has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics and is currently studying Shiatsu Therapy and Oriental Medicine.  DJ, dancer, facilitator, writer and philosopher; Rosy draws on the influence of her many different hats to create memorable experiences, seeking to bring people closer to their community and purpose
